Read What Our Patients Have to Say
“I am so grateful that I found this amazing team and chose them for my lipedema journey.”
I just returned from my 5th surgery this year at Dr. Byrd’s office. The past two were with Dr. Blackmon who is also exceptional and takes wonderful care of her patients. I just wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Byrd’s and Dr. Blackmon’s nurses and office staff. Those nurses are the absolute best, they are strong, very caring and hard working ladies who give it their all! I am so grateful that I found this amazing team and chose them for my lipedema journey. They have made this process as easy and stress free as it can be! They rock!!
“So incredibly thankful to Dr. Byrd and her staff.”
Back home in Texas recovering from my last two surgeries. Looking back, I probably would not have done arms and posterior thighs in the same week. It’s a lot to manage during the recovery process. Due to my husband’s job though, we were limited on when we could travel to Georgia for all 5 procedures. Thankful they were all completed in just under a year. Looking forward to when everything stabilizes over the next few months. So incredibly thankful to Dr. Byrd and her staff for their kindness, professionalism, support, and sense of humor.
“For me, dr Bryd gave me a feeling and quality of life I never thought I’d experience again.”
Dr. Byrd does this day in and out. You want someone who knows this disease. I traveled from New Hampshire and Florida to see her. I was 61-64 and had 4 procedures. I never had severe pain. Legs and abdomen were my worse areas. Insurance did NOT pay for it. Total was the cost of a nice car but the best money I ever spent. When I began I said this is either the smartest thing I’ve ever done or the worse. But it has been nothing but a positive. It’s been approximately 2 years since I finished. I’ve lost over 60 lbs. No regrowth. My mobility has improved drastically. I cringe thinking where I’d be if I hadn’t taken the plunge. For me, dr Bryd gave me a feeling and quality of life I never thought I’d experience again.
Tomorrow I turn 60. Today I celebrated my new body in some knee boots for the first time since I was a teenager. Dr. Byrd, you are my hero!
Never have I ever been able to fit into Regular Calf tall boots! Thank you Dr Marcia Byrd
I did a thing today! I did my first ever race here in Nashville! A year ago I couldnt have dreamed it possible. Thank you Dr. Byrd for giving me my life back!
Why I chose Dr. Byrd: From researching so many posts over four years, I rarely, if ever, saw complaints about Dr. Byrd’s work, her staff, or her bedside manner. That comfortably piqued my interest. Then realized she trained in Germany decades ago when almost no one in USA was treating our illness…yep, that one got me!
Dr Byrd is a miracle worker. I am the anomaly and am a 40 yr old who had this disease kick into high gear in 2020, 2 years after my Total hysterectomy. I was a very fit, healthy, active person until all of a sudden I lost the ability to use my legs. This disease compounded so quickly not only in my legs, but everywhere, it left me mostly unable to do the things I used to do.I fought through so many specialists and Mis-diagnoses until finally a Venus specialist told me he thinks I have Lipedema, but admitted he had no clue what it really was or how to treat, except he had heard that lipo would be the only best option for me to explore.I did so much research and when I found Dr. Byrd and saw her results and read about her extensive history and knowledge about this disease, I didn’t care what it cost or how far we had to go, I had hope and motivation again!Dr Byrd has given me back my life and body that is strong and that I trust again. I can’t thank her enough and am so grateful to her.
So I came across this old picture of me 160 pounds ago and the other was three days ago. Im 3 of 9 surgeries down and can not thank dr Byrd enough for giving me my life back!
The first time that I have worn any sort of dressy pants in probably 25 years. Thank you Dr B!
Five of six surgeries down and Dr. Byrd really is fantastic at her job. Can’t wait to see what this feels/looks in 4-6 months. For now I feel very sore and a bit like a mummy, but a much lighter mummy for sure. No more sand-bag legs and arms!
Dr Byrd has given me my life back and I was finally able to wear an actual girlie dress today for the first time in 25 years! Now time to get these arms done!
